Jaqueline was a 12-year-old girl suffering from a bilateral cleft lip since birth.
She came to us from a very poor and remote region of Kenya to receive surgical treatment.
Jaqueline was a very sad and shy young girl.
She no longer attended school or was a part of her community because she was constantly ridiculed.
Plastic surgeon Dr Stephanie Cohen completed the surgery in 2012.
Two years later in 2014, we were able to visit with Jaqueline — not only does she look beautiful, but she is now going to school and is accepted by her peers and community.
