Team LA’s first mission with Operation International was a success, with 136 cases completed during their week in Kenya. The life-changing surgeries included 87 major cases, 35 head, neck, and maxillofacial cases, plus hernias, lipomas, and other minor procedures.
Team LA is based out of Los Angeles, California and was founded by Ian Otinga, the Kenya Country Coordinator for Operation International, in the summer of 2025. It is comprised of general, plastics and head and neck Surgeons and are supported by CRNAs, nurses, and scrub technicians.
