Team Chicago completed their second trip to Tanzania and sixth mission with Operation International, performing 60 surgeries for patients in need. They offered general surgery, plastics, craniofacial and ENT care, and traveled to visit a local orphanage while in the country.
Team Chicago's 2026 mission trip included cleft lip repair, tumor removal, hernia repairs, and much more, changing lives for patients of all ages.
Team Chicago was launched in 2019 by Dr. Edie Chan. They went on their inaugural trip to Uganda in 2021 where they completed 87 general surgical and plastic surgery operations. The team has continued to go on annual mission trips, including to Ghana, Tanzania, and Kenya.
