Team CCI completed their inaugural mission in May and June, joining Team Heart of Texas in Zambia. The team provided fundamentals of Critical Care training, rounding and POCUS training to multiple sites in Zambia.

The Critical Care Initiative invests in people to strengthen healthcare systems where the need is greatest. Our mission is to build capacity among healthcare professionals in developing countries through long-term, equitable partnerships.
We work alongside local clinicians, educators, and health leaders to develop critical care skills, support the training of future generations, and strengthen local health systems. Rather than providing short-term solutions, we focus on sustainable relationships that enable lasting improvements in patient care.
Critical care remains a major unmet healthcare need in many low-resource settings. By supporting critical care education, pandemic preparedness, and disaster response capabilities, we help communities build the expertise and resilience needed to save lives.
