Since moving to Laos, I have not been able to practice nursing in the direct, hands-on way that has always been central to who I am. Opportunities for clinical patient care are limited for foreigners, and I have deeply missed the personal connection and purpose that come from caring for patients at the bedside. Being part of this mission is a meaningful and energizing opportunity to return to the heart of my profession. It allows me to use my medical knowledge and skills in a way that directly supports individuals and families who have limited access to essential care. I am grateful for the chance to serve patients in such a tangible way and to contribute to a mission that brings healing, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
