Isabel Perreira

Isabel Pereira is a general surgery registrar with a passion for benign upper gastrointestinal and hernia surgery. Born in Angola and raised in the UK, she has always felt a deep connection to her roots and a strong desire to give back. Her journey in global surgery has taken her to Angola and Ethiopia, where she has worked with organisations like Facing Africa, providing life-changing reconstructive surgery for people affected by NOMA. Isabel speaks Portuguese and understands Spanish, which helps her connect more deeply with the communities she serves. She believes that even the simplest surgical intervention can profoundly change a person’s life, and she’s committed to expanding access to safe, timely care in places where it's needed most. For her, surgery is not just a profession—it’s a way to restore dignity, hope, and opportunity.
