
Sandy Iskander is a junior doctor in General Surgery in the Netherlands, with over three years of clinical experience. She is currently working at Radboud University Medical Center while actively preparing for surgical residency. Sandy earned her MSc in Medicine from Radboud University in Nijmegen. Born and raised in the Netherlands with Egyptian Coptic roots, and with experience working in multiple countries, Sandy brings a broad, flexible, and deeply patient-centered approach to healthcare. Her multicultural background shapes the way she connects with patients, allowing her to recognize individual needs and tailor care with empathy, awareness, and respect. Outside the hospital, Sandy leads a dynamic and purpose-driven life. She contributes to medical education by developing teaching on diversity at Radboud University, serves as a Sunday school teacher and translator within the Coptic Orthodox Church, and helps run her family’s restaurant. When she’s not working or teaching, you’ll likely find her at the gym, traveling the world, reading a book or painting, creative outlets that keep her balanced and inspired.
