My name is Tomi, I am Nigerian-born ENT resident at Baylor Scott and White in Texas. I left home over 10 years ago in pursuit of a dream of becoming a physician with the hope of returning home to Africa to provide care for my people someday. After years of immigration barriers prevented me from participating in medical missions, this will be the first time going back to the motherland in the capacity of a physician. This trip represents the fulfillment of a lifelong commitment to serve underserved communities while strengthening local medical capacity. I look forward to serving the people of Rakai.
