Operation Hearts will return to Guyana in June 2026 for the fourth time. The team will provide advanced, high quality cardiac surgical care to patients with no access to complex cardiovascular surgery. They aim to perform six coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedures and six valve operations. Collaboration with perioperative care is provided by the team's partner Guyanese nurses and physicians.
In 2023, the Caribbean Heart Institute joined forces with Operation International – Team Hearts to increase the potential for the group to access the resources, technical equipment, and critical skillsets needed to perform complex cardiac surgery in Guyana and around the world.
